Fear keeps many people from experiencing fun and new things in life. The truth is, scary things happen, but should we let that control our life? Absolutely not! Also, scary things don't happen as often as the news outlets would like you to believe. I co-host a podcast with my buddy, a Marine Vet and personal trainer, that addresses some simple things to think about that will dramatically decrease the likelihood of anything ever happening. Spoiler alert: the main tip? Awareness. To hear more about awareness and the psychology of attackers and victims, give a listen.
